Q: How to Remove and Install a A/C Accumulator in AC System?
A: To remove the refrigerant, start by discharging and recovering it. Then, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Next, remove the left headlight assembly. After that, remove the A/C accumulator nuts from the condenser and refrigerant lines, and seal all open ports to prevent contamination. Finally, remove the mounting bolt and lift out the A/C accumulator. For installation, follow the reverse steps of removal. Make sure to install new seals onto the A/C accumulator fittings and apply a thin layer of refrigerant oil to the seals before installing them. If a new A/C accumulator is being installed, add 2 ounces of fresh refrigerant oil. Reconnect the battery and then have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested.
