Pontiac Phoenix Ball Joint

In the Pontiac Phoenix branded vehicles, the Ball Joint is instrumental in the suspension as well as the steering system by linking control arms to the steering knuckles so that it can rotate in two planes but cannot translate. These steel parts are a bearing stud which is a circular piece and a socket covered in a rubber boot so that dirt does not get to it and so that lubricant can get in. The Modern vehicles have been employing ball joints instead of the kingpin type that was previously used in the suspension systems; the ball joints increase the independency of caster and camber degrees, without introducing compliance and thus improving the vehicle handling, stability, and riding comfort. Since sealed designs of Pontiac Phoenix Ball Joints do not require lubricants, they usually can last for about 80,000 miles of the car to offer safe road conditions.

Each OEM Pontiac Phoenix Ball Joint we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Pontiac Phoenix Ball Joint Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you replace a ball joint on Pontiac Phoenix?
A: To start with, lift up the front of the car and prop it on jackstands. After that, remove the wheel. Then remove the bolt holding the ball joint to the brake caliper bracket. Use a t-in drill bit to drill about ¾-in deep into the center of the rivets holding down the ball joint on the lower control arm. Drill just deep enough with a ½-in drill bit to remove rivet heads. Drive out any remaining rivets and take away the ball joint. When installing back a new balljoint in place of rivets on lower control arm, use correct size bolts and nuts on them instead. Mounting back of balljoint onto Steering Knuckle must be done with tightening bolt and nut by proper torque specs in order to prevent loss of control while driving. Finally mount-wheel and lower-car to ground.
