  • Q: How do you remove and install the latch and lock cylinder on Pontiac G6?
    A: To access the lock cylinder, one has to open the trunk and take out the trunk lid trim panel, the rod connecting the lock cylinder with the latch has to be disconnected. Then, also remove the latch mounting bolts, shift the latch around and disconnect the wiring then finally, also take out the latch. For the lock cylinder, disconnect the latch to lock cylinder rod from the lock cylinder, and by use of pliers, pull of the lock cylinder retaining clip in the direction shown below. Last, installation entails the removal process in the opposite for the latch and the lock cylinder.
