A: To remove the evaporator in a vehicle, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Then, disconnect the electrical connector and tube from the windshield washer reservoir and remove the reservoir. Next, disconnect and set aside the air conditioning high blower relay and power switching relay connectors. Unplug the air conditioning resistor connector and loosen the hose clamps on the Heater Core inlet and outlet pipes. If the hoses are difficult to remove, slit the ends with a razor or knife. Disconnect the cycling pressure switch at the accumulator and the threaded fitting at the accumulator outlet. Disconnect the threaded fitting on the evaporator inlet pipe below the accumulator. Unplug the main wire harness junction box to the right rear of the brake booster and disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose. Remove the bolts from the heater core/evaporator module front cover and remove the cover. Disconnect the threaded fitting on the evaporator outlet pipe at the accumulator and the support bracket to the right of the fitting. Finally, pull the evaporator from the module front cover. To install the evaporator, follow the reverse steps, ensuring all connections are tightened securely.
