How to check and replace a water pump in an engine for Chevrolet Trailblazer?

The primary water pump is a critical component of the engine and its malfunction can cause overheating and extensive damage. One can observe for coolant leakage from the weep hole or listen for a high-pitched squealing sound indicative of bearing failure to ascertain that the water pump is in good condition. You can check whether there are excessive bearings wearing out by trying to lift up and down or left and right the pulley of a water pump. If the backside impeller fins on the pump are decayed, then you might have to replace it. To remove a water pump, disconnect the battery cable, drain coolant, remove various parts such as air intake duct, radiator shroud and fan clutch assembly. Next take off pulley of water pump along with bolts and clean surfaces which are used for sealing it properly. In fitting this; apply new gasket using RTV sealant while other components including pulley should be available again. Fill cooling system with fresh coolant and bleed it while checking engine for any leaks of coolant. After removing different components and disconnecting heater hoses as well as connector you will go through steps that were discussed earlier earlier performing an installation process that started in step one above before refilling cooling system later on check whether there is any leak in it or not like what was done previously.
