- Q: How do you begin the process of removing the console on Chevrolet Trailblazer?A: First of all, it is important to lock the wheels not to roll the car, as during work, it is necessary to turn off the gear in Park and provide the release of the handbrake handle. Turn and unlock the setscrew on the end of the shift knob then pinch the shift lever boot sleeves to release the clips to pull out the knob as well as the boot. For models to Oldsmobile, the shift handle release button should be pressed as the shift lever is moved to the rear After doing this, the console trim place has the screws and clips removed. Lift up the console lid and thereafter locate the six screws which hold the storage bin and then pull it off. Next, unscrew the console mounting screw and park the parking brake lever fully pull up. In the case of the rear overhead console, they are four screws that hold it; after which you lower the console and take it out. Installation is done in the reverse order to removal.
