Chevrolet Tahoe Motor And Transmission Mount
In Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles, the Motor And Transmission Mount plays an important function of regulating the vibrations generated from the motor and the transmission and pass on better comfort to the passengers in the car. Such mounts can include a steel base and a rubber shock absorber so that the poundage of the vibrations is minimized as it is transferred to the automobile structure. The rubber that forms part of the component can, with time, become less elastic depending on factors such as driving behavior and the overall mileage the car has clocked up and so requires to be checked for wear periodically. Motor And Transmission Mounts can differ between Chevrolet Tahoe models depending on the transmission layout where the number of mounts might differ or be the same but different in design. These mounts are typically very rugged but if there is evidence of excessive vibration it is time to inspect both the engine and transmission mounts. Preventive servicing maintain the effectiveness and comfort of Chevrolet Tahoe at its optimal level.

Q: How to remove and replace a cracked or torn transmission mount on Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL?
A: Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Insert a large screwdriver or prybar into the space between the transmission extension housing and the crossmember and try to pry the transmission up slightly. The transmission should not move much at all if the mount is cracked or torn, replace it. To replace the mount, remove the fasteners attaching the mount to the crossmember and to the transmission. Raise the transmission slightly with a jack and remove the mount. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
