- Q: How do you replace the rear and front cables on Chevrolet Nova?A: Before getting to the rear cables, the lug nuts of the wheel need to be loosened, the rear of the car has to be lifted and supported by jacks in order to take out the wheel. To access the front cable, front the vehicle up, and secure on jackstands and slacken the equalizer assembly for the same purpose. Remove the front cable from the cable joiner at the equalizer and the front pedal assembly. Disconnect the cable from the routing clips and pass the cable and grommet through the firewall. Finally to install the cable, the process is exactly the opposite of the above removal and the cable is fitted in the correct manner.
