Chevrolet Cruze Water Pump

The Water Pump is used in Chevrolet Cruze and its role is to pump coolant through the engines water jacket where it is exposed to heat produced by burning fuel. This process assist in cooling the engine through transferring heat to the radiator where it frees to the air. In older designs the water pump is connected to the crankshaft via a belt This can be replaced by an electric pump as another useful addition as parasitic loss is reduced and the amount of coolant flow is governed by the temperature of the engine. Chevrolet Cruze has used different water pump designs in its products over time; earlier types of pump body were cast iron but later models make use of lightweight aluminum castings. High-performance engines, which generate significantly more heat than normal, require increased coolant flow- performance-oriented water pumps can be found. These pump types can be mechanical or electric with the electric type often having the flexibility in terms of installation and operation of the pump especially where it is being used in a special project. In general, the Water Pump is an essential component in processes of engine cooling to support its stability in various driving modes.

Each OEM Chevrolet Cruze Water Pump we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Cruze Water Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the water pump on Chevrolet Cruze?
A: To remove the water pump on 2015 and earlier 1.4L models, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the air filter housing, and loosen the right front wheel lug nuts. Remove the wheel and drain the cooling system. Take off the drive belt, right-side engine mount, and mount bracket. Remove the water pump pulley bolts and pulley, then proceed to remove the Thermostat and disconnect the heater hose from the water pump. Remove the water pump bolts, the water pump, and its gasket from the timing chain cover. Clean the bolt threads and threaded holes in the engine, and remove any corrosion or sealant. Make sure to eliminate all traces of old gasket material from the sealing surfaces. For the 1.8L engine, remove the water pump pulley bolts and the pulley, then unscrew the water pump mounting bolts and remove the pump, discarding the old 0-ring. Clean the bolt threads and threaded holes, as well as the mating surfaces of the water pump and engine block. Install a new 0-ring into the groove on the water pump, then install the water pump and bolts, tightening them in a crisscross pattern to the torque specifications. For all models, install the water pump pulley and tighten its bolts to the specified torque. Complete the remaining steps in the reverse order of removal, refill the cooling system, reconnect the battery, and operate the engine to check for leaks.
