Chevrolet Cruze Knock Sensor

In Chevrolet Cruze cars, the Knock Sensor is essential since it helps to detect engine knock that is as a result of an improper ignition timing. This device is to connect signals into the powertrain control module (PCM) so that it is able to change ignition timing to reduce detonation. Usually, knock sensors used in the Chevrolet Cruze models are piezoelectric devices which respond to the vibrations and convert them into electrical signals that reflect the increase of pressure peaks causing knocking. Chevrolet Cruze in their subsequent generations of engine have applied more advance knock sensor that can change ignition timing for every cylinder and also adjust boost pressure depending on the design of the engine. This is achieved while operating the engine near the 'knock limit' for improved performance and at the same time save on fuel that might be of lower octane. This paper aims at evaluating the impact of knock sensor in Chevrolet cruze vehicles while at the same time showing the manufacturers commitment to proactively ensuring engine efficiency and durability regardless of the driving conditions that a vehicle is exposed to.

Each OEM Chevrolet Cruze Knock Sensor we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Cruze Knock Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: Where is the knock sensor located and How to its removal and installation on Chevrolet Cruze?
A: The knock sensor is located on the rear side of the engine block, behind the starter motor. Begin by ensuring the ignition key is turned to the OFF position. Next, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. For 1.8L models, remove the intake manifold support bracket bolts and the bracket from the bottom of the manifold. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector, then remove the knock sensor retaining bolt and the knock sensor itself. Installation is the reverse of removal, and the knock sensor retaining bolt should be tightened to the specified torque.
