Chevrolet Cruze Ignition Coil

Chevrolet Cruze Ignition Coil is another small but very important car part that serves the ignition system greatly. Through step up transformation of the low voltage from the battery, an ignition coil produces the spark that incandesces the air/fuel mixture in the engine cylinders. This process entails wrapping a core of insulated copper wire, the secondary coil, around an iron core that is covered by a housing with another coil of insulated copper wire known as the primary coil. The primary part is the one that is connected to the battery and the charging system while the secondary loop involves the high tension lead and the spark plug wires. The Chevrolet Cruze cars, through the years, have employed different kinds of the ignition coils that include the distributor ignition system coil, coil pack, and the direct ignition coils. These adaptations relate to the DIS, COP, and CNP ignition systems that apply distinct procedures for the delivery of voltage towards the spark plugs. When there is a problem with the ignition coil, there is usually poor performance and sluggishness of the vehicle with poor fuel economy as a consequence, all this are signs that warrant a competent check to be made on the ignition coil with a view of ascertaining whether it requires replacement or not.

Each OEM Chevrolet Cruze Ignition Coil we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Cruze Ignition Coil Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do I remove and install an ignition coil pack?
A: Make sure the ignition key is turned Off, then remove the engine cover by pulling it straight up. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil assembly by sliding the connector lock out and then depress the tab to release the connector. Remove the ignition coil pack mounting bolts. Pull the ignition coil pack straight up, detaching the spark plug boots. If you're replacing the ignition coil pack, remove the four boots from the coil pack and inspect them for cracks, tears and deterioration. If any of the boots are damaged, replace them. Before installing the boots on the ignition coil pack, coat the interior of each boot with silicone dielectric compound. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal. Tighten the ignition coil pack mounting bolts. For 2016 and later models, remove the oil filler cap and engine cover fasteners. Lift the engine cover and valve cover insulator up and off of the valve cover, then reinstall the oil filler cap. It may be necessary to remove the cover and insulator separately. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the ignition coil(s). Remove the ignition coil mounting fastener from the coil. Grasp the coil firmly and pull it off the spark plug. Repeat the same procedure for the remaining coils. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the coil mounting bolt(s).
