How do you remove and install an oil pump in V8 engine on Chevrolet Colorado?

Firstly, the oil pan and the timing chain cover must be unscrewed followed by dismantling the mounting nuts and bolts of the oil pump pick-up tube, and then the pick-up tube assembly has to be lowered from the vehicle, the last step being the probable unscrewing of a bolt fixed on the pick-up tube to the oil pump. Third, remove the oil pump retaining bolts and slid the pump off the crankshaft. To inspect, it is necessary to remove the oil pump cover and take out the rotors from the pump body; wash them with solvent and dry up the parts diligently inspecting the rotors, pump body in addition to bolt holes and splined surface on the crankshaft sprocket. If any of this part has a signs of scoring, scratching, or wearing, replace the oil pump assembly. While installing this product, just before you leave the site, pour some clean engine oil to the pick-up tube hole and fan the pump manually. Upon putting the timing chain cover back in place and sorting it out to fit the engine correctly, fit the oil pan back as well and do the rest in the reverse to how they were removed. Last but not the least, turn and add oil as well as coolant if required, check for any sign of leakage and also the oil pressure.
