In order to replace the trunk latch, first, open the trunk lid trim panel, then unplug the electrical connector of the trunk lid latch, emergency cable fastener and mounting fastener. Subsequently, it is possible to pull the emergency release cable out of the trunk lid then undo the latch mounting fasteners and then take out the latch. For installation, it is done in the reverse order they were removed. To install or remove the trunk striker, one has to first take out the trunk sill panel, unscrew the striker mounting fasteners and then take out the striker and to fit it screw the mounting fasteners in reverse order.
