- Q: How do you remove and install a window regulator on Chevrolet Beretta?A: Before starting with the removal of the regulator, it is important to turn off the negative cable at the battery and if the car is fitted with the Delco Loe II audio system then the lockout switch should be turned off in order to prevent power being fed back to the electrical system. In other manual window regulator models, one has to first dismantle the handle by pulling inward the bearing plate and door trim panel - a spring clip secures the handle in place and this can be done using a hooked wire but there's a special tool for this. Remove the door trim panel and water shield when the window regulator is fully up, and use very sticky tape put on the window regulator and rolled over the door frame to effect the window regulator to stay up firmly Note: the window regulator must be up to the position where it can no longer be lifted. Subsequently remove center pins of the rivets holding the regulator and drill the heads of the rivets with the help of the 1/4 inch drill bit. For models with power window control the electrical connector has to be disconnected, and bolts need to be unscrewed to detach the regulator from the sash channel, the regulator must be pulled out of the door. For installation, the regulator is to be installed in the door and require to be engrossed in the sash channel by using the 3/16 inch rivets with the help of the rivet tool.
