A: Park the vehicle straight and disconnect the battery's negative terminal. If equipped with an airbag, disable it. On non-airbag models, detach the horn pad. For pre-1996 airbag models, remove screws from the steering wheel's back. On 1996 and later, turn the wheel 90 degrees, accessing holes to release pins using a screwdriver. Lift the airbag module, disconnect the connector, and remove. Take off the horn plunger, retaining nut, mark the wheel's position if needed, then use a puller to detach the steering wheel. Disconnect horn and ground connectors. For installation, reverse the steps, center the SIR coil for airbag models, and tighten all components to specified torque.
