Chevrolet Astro Brake Pedal Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the brake pedal on Chevrolet Astro and GMC Safari?
A: Onne must begin by disconnection the cord from the negative pole of the battery to take off the pedal break for 1993 and later models. In case it is necessary, remove driver side knee bolster. Subsequently, remove Brake Light Switch and master cylinder pushrod from brake pedal. Check up on bushings and spacers' positions, then proceed by removing nut and pivot bolt at top of pedal arm. As soon as you remove those two nuts and bolts, it is easy to separate entire pedal arm from its bracket at which point you can get your spacer or even bushing back. If any one part appears overly worn out or damaged following an examination of all components, make sure it's replaced with a new one.To install brake pedal, fix these bushes along with spacers in their right locations on pedal arm before positioning pedal arm onto mounting bracket securing with pivot bolt and finally tightening nut well. After that follow reverse steps for reinstallation.
