To check the transmission mount, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Insert a large screwdriver or prybar into the space between the transmission extension housing and the crossmember, attempting to pry the transmission up slightly; it should move very little. If the transmission moves significantly, indicating a cracked or torn mount, it needs to be replaced. To replace the mount, remove the fasteners attaching it to the crossmember and the transmission. Then, raise the transmission slightly with a jack and remove the mount. Installation follows the reverse of the removal procedure.
