Cadillac Eldorado Brake Master Cylinder

The Brake Master Cylinder is a major part of Cadillac Eldorado brake system and actuates the brake operation by changing the force exerted by the foot into hydraulic pressure. It works through pistons located in a cast iron/ aluminum enclosure which compress brake fluid to force slave cylinders, which in turn pushes brake pad against the rotor/drums to cause the friction needed in stopping. Since model 1967 Cadillac Eldorado models utilize dual circuit master cylinders in which there are two pistons as a backup to failure in hydraulics. The design could be an integral type or a non-integral type with the last being more common among the designs. These differences are mostly concerning the way the reservoir is built and attached to the system which affects its ease of maintenance and where possible leakages. On average, the Brake Master Cylinder is an important component that will help Cadillac Elderado have the optimal brake control to ensure safety on roads.

Each OEM Cadillac Eldorado Brake Master Cylinder we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Cadillac Eldorado Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove and install the brake master cylinder on Cadillac ElDorado?
A: Before removing and installing the brake master cylinder with reference to the 1996-93 Deville and Fleetwood, the negative battery terminal should be loosened, and using a syringe, as much brake fluid from the brake master cylinder reservoir should be siphoned and the fluid chucked away before tightening the cap. Remove the electrical connector from the FL sensor switch, unbolt the brake lines from the brake master cylinder, and proportioning valves and then plug the ends to minimize fluid leakage. Disconnect the mounting nuts, and pull out the brake master cylinder. Again for installation, locate the brake master cylinder over the top of the power Brake Booster, put and torque the mounting nuts to 20 ft lbs. (27 Nm), connect the brake lines using the fittings which thereafter were tightened to 11/ft lbs. Next release the throttle servo with 15 Nm torque, reconnect the electrical connector and connect the negative cable of the battery. Add brake fluid to the brake master cylinder, and perform all the brake system's bleeding processes. For the 199D-91 Eldorado and Seville, it is stepped in the same way: turn the negative battery cable and the fluid level sensor connector; turn brake line and brake master cylinder. At installation, allow the brake master cylinder to be in proper orientation, tighten the mounting nuts, connect the brake hose, connect the electrical connector, fill the system, and bleed the system. The set of brake pedals of all regular, non-coupe Cadillacs in models from the 1992 to 1998 Eldorado and Seville, as well as the 1994 to 1998 Deville includes a brake master cylinder with a composite construction. Firstly, the operation starts by unscrewing the negative battery cable and the fluid level sensor connector, and then purge the brake fluid from the reservoir. If the bike has an anti-lock brake system, apply the brake and let the hydraulic fluid limp out, remove the connection between the reservoir hose and the braking system, and then cap it appropriately, disposing of the chemical used appropriately. You have to remove the fluid level sensor switch connector and then disconnect the brake lines and then remove the brake master cylinder. If you are changing the brake master cylinder reservoir, then mount the flange in a vise, remove and tap back the spring pins then check the reservoir for damages. For installation, new seal should be cleaned and lubricated; install it and then press the reservoir onto the brake master cylinder and fix it with pins. Lastly, secure the brake master cylinder to the brake pedestal by the nuts, fit the brake hose and electric connector, and then install the brake master cylinder and bleed the brake system as a final stage.
