Q: How to remove and install a climate control panel in a Cadillac ElDorado and Fleetwood?
A: Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the right and left sound insulator and snap out the upper steering column filler panel. Remove the lower steering column filler panel. Remove the screws from the tops of the trimplates and remove the left and right trim plates. Remove the screws at the bottom of the center trim plate and remove the trim plate. Remove the screws and pull out the A/C Switch. Detach the wiring connectors and remove the panel. Connect the wiring connectors and position the A/C Switch in the dash Install the retaining screws. Install the trim plates with the retaining screws. Install the steering column filler panel(s)and the left and right sound insulators, if removed. Connect the negative battery cable. For Eldorado and Seville early models, disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the instrument panel center trim plate. Remove the A/C Switch retaining screws and pull out the A/C Switch. Detach the wiring connector and remove the A/C Switch. Connect the wiring connectors and position the A/C Switch in the dash. Install the retaining screws. Install the center trim plate and secure with the screws. Connect the negative battery cable. The A/C Switch is contained within the instrument cluster on 1992--93 Eldorado and Seville. For late models, remove the instrument panel center trim plate. Remove the console trim plate. Remove the control assembly and the radio. Remove the control assembly bracket fasteners. Detach the electrical connectors from the control assembly and radio. Remove the A/C Switch retaining nuts. Remove the A/C Switch from the bracket. Installation is the reversal of the removal procedure.
