Cadillac DTS Lateral Link

The Lateral Link on Cadillac DTS automobiles is instrumental in the lateral support of the rear axle and wheels besides keeping the wheel hub aligned. Included in this component is the ability to control lateral motion of the vehicle which is a vital aspect of the car's responsiveness or 'handling'. One way that the Lateral Link tightens up the vehicle and increases its side-to-side stability is that it operates in unison. However, the overview mentioned does not differentiate between type or style of the Lateral Link used in one DTS model to another, the role, however, remains the same. Design and engineering of the Lateral Link contributes to the integrity of structure of the vehicle and the performance and smooth drive.

Each OEM Cadillac DTS Lateral Link we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Cadillac DTS Lateral Link Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove the toe link on Cadillac DTS?
A: To remove the lateral link on a 1999 Deville model, start by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts and blocking the front wheels. Then, raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Remove the wheel and the fasteners from each end of the lateral link. For installation, follow the reverse steps, making sure to tighten the mounting fasteners and wheel lug nuts to the specified torque. Additionally, have the rear wheel alignment checked and adjusted if necessary. For 2000 and later Deville/DTS models and all Seville models, the removal process is slightly different. Begin by marking the position of the toe adjusting cam at the inner end of the lateral link. Loosen the lateral link-to-Control Arm nut and use a puller to pop the ball stud out of the control arm. Remove the nut and separate the lateral link from the control arm. Then, remove the exhaust system and lower the rear of the suspension support by removing the two bolts from the rear. To detach the inner end of the link from the suspension support, remove the nut, cam washer, and bolt. For installation, follow the reverse steps, aligning the marks on the toe-adjusting cam and suspension support before tightening the link-to-suspension support nut. Finally, tighten all suspension fasteners and wheel lug nuts to the specified torque and have the rear wheel alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.
