Q: How do you replace the TP sensor on Cadillac DeVille and DTS?
A: For the later models, TP sensor is a component of the throttle body and has to be replaced as a whole. Start by detaching the cable from the negative battery terminal. The IAC valve is positioned above the TP sensor and so it is prudent to unplug its electrical connector and set aside. Even though there are some hoses and pipes in front of the TP sensor, you can carefully remove mounting screws for TP sensor without removing any of them. Then, unplug the electrical connector from the TP sensor. For Throttle Body Removal: Unplug the electrical connector first, then take out the screws which mount that particular sensor. Once again, remove two screws used to mount the TP Sensor before pulling it off completely. If equipped with an old TPS O-ring, discard it before reinstalling a new O-ring to avoid any air leaks; note that even if you install your old TPS, use a fresh O-ring because air leakage might result when you reuse it. This reassembly takes place in reverse.
