How do you replace the trunk latch and striker on Cadillac CTS?

To remove the trunk latch one needs to remove the trunk lid trim panel, then you can disconnect the electrical connector of the trunk lid and then remove the latch mounting fastener to pull out the trunk latch. For the trunk striker, where located at the end of the trunk sill panel, one should first unbolt the trunk sill panel fastening from each end to pop the panel out, second is to detach the emergency release cable from the trunk striker and last one is to unbolt the fastening of the striker to take out the striker. Reinstallation of the component is done in a sequential process but in the reverse order from that of the first one during removal.
