Q: How do I remove and install a throttle body on Buick LaCrosse?
A: Take off the air intake duct first on 2009 and earlier models by removing the left fender brace. Disconnect the PCV fresh air inlet hose from the duct and loosen the hose clamp screws at the Throttle Body and air filter box, then pull back clamps and remove it. In 2010 and later V6 engines, pry out the PCV tube from the duct and loosen hose clamp screws at both air filter box and throttle body or air intake resonator. To take off 2.4L engines' air intake resonator, loose just one screw so that you can pull it out of the throttle body. Firstly, remove cable from negative terminal of battery then proceed to remove other parts as instructed below: in 2009 model vehicles for example, begin with taking out an intake duct henceforth followed by disconnecting an air filter element; this should be done without necessarily unplugging electrical connectors before removing PCM together with its corresponding wiring harness while for those having separate TCMs follow same procedure. Remove Box by pulling it up through grommets. However, in case of a separate TCM do same to it. Then pull upwards until disconnected from its grommets. For all later models after 2010, start by taking out an intake duct before detaching electric connector located at MAF sensor then lift air filter box away from grommets completely. However, the installation of both is basically undoing their removals.
