Q: How do I remove and install a shift cable in Buick Enclave,Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia?
A: To remove the shift cable, set the parking brake and place chocks on the wheels and remove the driver's side floor console extension panel and disconnect the shift cable end. Unclip the shift cable housing from the shift lever bracket and remove the air filter housing air inlet duct and the air filter housing. Next, disconnect the shift cable end from the ball of the transaxle shift lever arm and remove the shift cable housing retainer. Pinch the locking tabs in and remove the cable from the shift cable bracket. Finally, remove the shift cable grommet from the engine compartment firewall and pull out the shift cable from the engine compartment end to remove it from the vehicle. To install the shift cable, simply follow the reverse order of removal. Check the shift lever for correct operation in all ranges and repeat the adjustment if necessary.
