A: Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the Wiper Arm from the drive shaft, the nut, the washer, and the upper finish molding from the lift gate. Detach the motor's electrical harness and unscrew it to remove it from the tailgate. To install, set the motor in the tailgate, tighten the screws to 53-inch lbs. Add washer and nut to the shaft, tightening to 62-inch lbs. Reconnect the electrical harness and upper molding.
  • Q: How to remove and install a Windshield Wiper Motor on Buick Century and Regal?
A: To remove and install the wiper motor, first raise the hood and remove the cowl screen to gain access to the motor. Then, loosen the transmission drive link-to-motor crank arm attaching nuts, detach the drive links from the motor crank arm, disconnect the electrical harness and washer hoses (if equipped), and remove the attaching bolts. Guide the crank arm out of the hole in the cowl and remove the motor. To install, reverse the steps, making sure the motor is in the PARK position when assembling the crank arm-to-transmission drive links. Finally, check the operation of the wiper/washer system.
