Buick Century Throttle Body
Buick Century automobiles utilize Throttle Body to control the intake of air into the engine hence its notable function in the sector to do with fuel injection. Its located between the air cleaner element and the intake manifold and contains a butterfly valve that changes in response to the accelerator pedal command. During the pressing of the pedal, the valve opens to admit more air and at the same time several sensors relay signals to the PCM to adjust fuel flow rates. Buick Century models have changed their Throttle Body Injection (TBI) in the earlier models to the multi-port fuel injection systems. TBI units are somewhat less complex than MFI and combines fuel delivery with the throttle body, however, later models eliminate these by integrating Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). However, I found that the change from the mechanical linkage to the Electronic Throttle Control, has enhanced reliability and safety convenience.
