    Q:
How do you replace the Shift Levers on Saturn Vue? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, you have to pull out the glove box, center instrument panel bezel/storage compartment, the console. Thirdly remove the cover that is situated at the lower side of the steering column. With a lot of care remove the shifter upper cover that is on the shifter using either a flat head screwdriver or using a trim tool. Then pull the rear cover from the shifter housing and then take off the side plates which are fastened by screws only from front and rear portion. Next, using the screwdriver care is taken to disengage the end of the shift cable from the shifter assembly, then the cable retaining clip is pulled off while the cable is lifted from the bracket. Pull off the park-lock cable from the shifter assembly, and take out its retainer clip, and the one on the bracket too. It is necessary to turn the bulb holder in order to unlock and then disconnect the rest of the wiring. Last of all, unscrew the mounting nuts to pull out the shifter assembly and when reinstalling the previously removed and discontinued two clips use new ones.
