The headlights have to be aligned, so that they do not dazzle other road users while at the same time providing adequate illumination on the roadway. The aim should be checked at least once a year or each time a new headlight is fitted, or when a front end body repair is undertaken. There are vertical adjustment screws provided at the rear of each headlight housing but there are no horizontal adjustment screws. A basic form of adjustment is done with the aid of masking tape, an empty wall and flat floor. Install a vertical automatic tape on the wall in tandem to the vehicle middle line plus the middle line of the left and right headliners and position an horizontal tape line. It must be parked 25 feet from the wall, level and it is preferable to have it with a half-full gas tank without heavy load. For low beam adjustment the high-intensity zone, must be two inches below the horizontal line to adjust the screw clockwise to raise the beam and anti-clockwise to lower the beam. When high beams are on, the high-intensity zone should be focused just below the line of horizon. In the event the two need to be balanced reach an agreement to ensure that the low beams remain safe, then the headlamps should be serviced by a professional technician in the nearest future.

Next, remove the bolt and screw that secure the headlight housing to the upper radiator crossmember.

Pull out the lower front corner of the headlight housing and slide it out at an angle.

For low beam adjustment, the high-intensity zone should be set two inches below the horizontal line. Adjust the screw clockwise to raise and counterclockwise to lower the beam.
