The spark plug wires should be checked at recommended intervals and whenever new plugs are installed in the engine. Inspect one wire at a time to prevent, which is crucial for proper engine operation. To disconnect the plug wire from one spark plug, grab the rubber boot, twist slightly and pull the wire free. When checking inside the boot for corrosion, it will look like a white powdery crust. Then, push the wire and boot back onto the end of the spark plug. It should fit tightly on the plug.
