    Q:
How do you remove and install the front stabilizer bar on Cadillac ElDorado and Fleetwood? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove and install a stabilizer bar on a Deville or Fleetwood, you should start by raising and supporting the vehicle. Take off the wheel and tire assemblies, stabilizer bar link bolts from lower control arms and stabilizer bar bushing brackets from frame. Using a separator tool, disconnect tie rod ends from steering knuckles, disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold. Twist passenger side strut all the way to right, then slide the stabilizer bar over the steering knuckle and pull it down until it clears the frame. To install, slide stabilizer bar back into position while loosely installing mount bushings, brackets, bolts. Loosely attach link components of stabilizer bar to lower control arms, connect tie rod ends to steering knuckles and tighten nuts. Stabilizer bar bracket bolts are tightened as well as stabilizer bar link bolt nuts. Finally, reconnect exhaust pipe with manifold, install wheel and tire assemblies then lower vehicle. In this process for Eldorado and Seville models though, there are additional steps: removing road sensing suspension position sensor from lower control arm; disconnecting muffler pipe from manifold. The next step is positioning and installing the Sway Bar Kit followed by connecting exhaust pipe again and installation of bushings brackets and stabilization links. Then people fasten bracket bolts as well as stabilization link nuts; if applicable they will reinstall road sensing suspension position sensor. Finally we go to installation of right side wheel and tire assembly lowered vehicle.
