How to remove and reinstall a driveplate in 3.6L V6 engine on Buick Enclave? Posted by Customer
    A:
Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the transaxle. Remove the bolts that secure the drive-plate to the crankshaft. If the crankshaft turns, insert a screwdriver through one of the holes in the driveplate. Remove the driveplate from the crankshaft. Clean the driveplate to remove grease and oil. Inspect the surface for cracks, and check for cracked and broken ring gear teeth. Lay the driveplate on a flat surface to check for warpage. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces of the driveplate and the crankshaft. If the crankshaft rear seal is leaking, replace it before reinstalling the driveplate. Position the driveplate against the crank-shaft. Align the marks made during removal. Before installing the bolts, apply thread locking compound to the threads and place the retaining ring in position on the driveplate. Wedge a screwdriver through the ring gear teeth to keep the driveplate from turning as you tighten the bolts to the torque. If the front pump seal/O-ring is leaking, now would be a very good time to replace it. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How do you remove and reinstall the driveplate in 3.4L V6 engine on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the transaxle, first raise the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Next, take out the bolts that secure the driveplate to the crankshaft, noting that most driveplates have locating dowels; if not, make marks for proper alignment during reassembly. If the crankshaft turns, use a screwdriver to prevent it from moving while removing the mounting bolts. When removing the driveplate, wear gloves to protect your fingers from sharp edges. Clean the driveplate to remove grease and oil, inspecting it for cracks and checking for any damaged ring gear teeth, and lay it on a flat surface to check for warpage. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces of the driveplate and crankshaft, replacing the crankshaft rear seal if it is leaking before reinstalling the driveplate. Position the driveplate against the crankshaft, aligning the marks made during removal, and ensure correct installation using any alignment dowels or staggered bolt holes present. Apply thread locking compound to the bolt threads and place the retaining ring on the driveplate before tightening the bolts to the specified torque, using a screwdriver to prevent the driveplate from turning. If the front pump seal or O-ring is leaking, replace it at this time. The remainder of the installation follows the reverse order of removal.

How do you remove and reinstall a driveplate in 3.0L and 3.6L V6 engine on GMC Terrain? Posted by Customer
    A:
Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the transaxle. Next, take out the bolts that secure the driveplate to the crankshaft, noting that most driveplates have locating dowels; if yours does not, make marks for proper alignment during reassembly. A large screwdriver can be used to prevent the driveplate from turning while removing the mounting bolts. If a retaining ring is present between the bolts and the driveplate, remember which side faces the driveplate upon removal. Carefully take off the driveplate, wearing gloves to protect your fingers from sharp edges. Clean the driveplate to eliminate grease and oil, inspecting it for cracks and checking for any damaged ring gear teeth, and lay it on a flat surface to check for warpage. Apply thread locking compound to the bolt threads and place the retaining ring on the driveplate before tightening the bolts to the specified torque, using a screwdriver to keep the driveplate from turning. If the front pump seal or O-ring is leaking, replace it at this time. Complete the installation by reversing the removal steps.
