    Q:
How do you remove fuel injectors and Fuel Rail for Chevrolet Cobalt,HHR and Saturn ION? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the fuel injectors, start by relieving the fuel system pressure and disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the air intake duct and coolant overflow pipe if necessary. Release the quick-connect line fitting at the fuel rail and disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts and remove the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. Remove the retainer securing each fuel injector to the fuel rail and pull out the injector. Remove the old O-rings from each injector and discard them. For installation, lubricate the new injector O-rings with clean engine oil and tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts to the proper torque specifications. Reconnect the battery and start the engine to check for fuel leaks. On turbocharged engines, additional steps include removing the fuel rail high-pressure feed pipe and intake manifold. Carefully remove the foam fuel injector insulator, electrical connectors, and any remaining connections. Remove the fuel rail, using a special injector removal tool if necessary. Remove the old Teflon sealing ring and upper O-ring from each injector. To install the new Teflon seal, use the special tools included in the injector tool set or a socket of similar diameter. Install the support ring, upper O-ring, and Teflon seal on each injector. Clean the injector bores and install the spring steel retainer on each injector. Install the fuel rail and injectors, tightening the mounting bolts and high-pressure fuel line fittings to the correct torque specifications. Reconnect the battery and start the engine to check for fuel leaks.

    Q:
How to remove fuel injectors and Fuel Rail on Saturn Vue? Posted by Customer
    A:
First of all, you will have to relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery terminal in order to remove the fuel injectors. The engine cover and the air intake duct should be removed. After that, for four-cylinder models, compressed air should be used to clean the fuel injector areas; then, unbolt the fuel line support bracket and disconnect the fuel line from the rail and quick-connect fitting. Next, disconnect the wiring from the fuel injectors, remove the fuel rail mounting bolts and extract the fuel rail with its injectors. By loosening up those tiny tabs responsible for holding them in place you can now pull each injector out while discarding its upper as well as lower O-rings. For 2002 and 2003 (3.0L) V6 models, disconnecting this year's fuel line as well as intake manifold is a must after which wiring is detached from all injectors for convenient removal of entire fuel rails having installed on it all related injectors. In this case however such an operation necessitates removing not only electrical connectors but also upper intake manifold together with both these assemblies of fuels which are positioned on it at different points. In closing however, irrespective of all other factors that may be there during your exploration into this topic area always ensure that a new set of both upper plus bottom O-rings are coated using engine oil before insertion under each injector within what must henceforth be referred to as their respective respective spots while fastening down a single piece of these pipes named "pipe" onto any part within engine block where external sources could still get into this vehicle's chambers via one side other than directly through cylinders so they ended up being collected at its junction with cylinder head on topmost portion known as deck surfaces located beneath openings known as valve seats meant controlling exhaust/intake stroke valves making up combustion chamber itself which contain either one or two more smaller holes depending upon type produced by different manufacturers thus significant variations occurred in terms of these parts' sizes as well between various makes and models while nevertheless similar principles were used designing this category hence can be described being both more or less identical before they left factory. Finally, the battery terminal should be reconnected and then the fuel pump activated to check for fuel leaks.
