For front cable on 1990-93 Deville and Fleetwood, it requires raising and safely supporting the vehicle and loosening the adjuster and removing the cable from adjuster and then removing the retaining nut from under body. Lower the vehicle and disconnected the cable from the lever assembly. During installation the cable is connected to the lever assembly then the vehicle is raised again, the cable is secured and the cable retainer nut is tightened to 22ft/lbs. Tighten the nut and the cable to 30 Nm, connect the cable with the adjuster, adjust the parking brake cable and lower the vehicle. For the intermediate cable, lift the car and unbolt the cable from the adjuster; removal procedure differs for 1990-91 and 1992-93 cars. Fitting includes mating the cable to the rear equalizer then clipping onto it and / or onto retainers and fine tuning the parking brake cable. For rear cables, raising and supporting the vehicle, back the adjuster nut, removing the wheel and brake drum, disconnecting the cable from the brake shoes parking brake lever, and removing the conduit fitting. For left and right rear cables only on 1990 vehicles perform left and right rear cables step, and for all others remove the cable from the equalizer then install in this manner. For 1994-98 Deville, lift the car, remove front cable from the intermediate cable, and un-clip the cable housing retainer, then lower the car, remove the left dash close-out panel, disconnect the cable from the pedal assembly, and then remove it. Installation comprises of placing the cable as a main component, fixing it onto the pedal assembly as well as ensuring that it links with the intermediate cable as required. For the intermediate cable, lift the car and place it on jack stands, remove the front cable clip, then unplug the front end, remove the adjuster of the rear end, disconnect the rear ends then fix the new cable securely. For rear cables, lift up the car, remove the wheel, use a wrench and remove the cable from the adjuster, disconnect the cables from the equalizer and finally detach the cable from the caliper. They are fitting of cable in the retainers, fixing of the cable in the caliper, and arrangement of the parking brake cable. For adjustment on Deville and Fleetwood, the brake shoes must be adjusted and apply and release the parking brake four or five times, parking brake pedal should be checked for full release and adjust the cable until a 3/16th drill bit fits. For Eldorado and Seville turn on the service brake, fully engage the parking brake, check to ensure that the parking brake is released completely, lift the car, check position of the parking brake levers, tighten the cable at the adjuster, and confirm that both levers are resting of the stops after adjustment.
