    How do you replace the headlight bulbs on Cadillac DeVille and DTS? Posted by Customer

    For 2005 and earlier models,Open the hood. Remove the radiator support cover. Remove the screws/nuts and pull the headlight housing out for access to the bulb holders. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the headlight housing. Remove the cover(s) for access to the bulb(s). Rotate the bulb holder(s) counterclockwise. Without touching the glass with your bare fingers, insert the new bulb and holder assembly into the headlight housing and rotate clockwise to lock it in place. Reinstall the headlight housing and radiator support cover. 2006 AND LATER MODELS: Remove enough of the front bumper fascia retainers to lower one corner enough to access the bulbs. Remove the headlight bulb cover. Unclip the headlight bulb retainer springs and remove the bulb. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Remove the headlight housing and the access cover from the headlight housing. Twist the bulb holder counterclockwise and withdraw the bulb holder and connector from the housing. Unplug the electrical connector from the bulb holder. Handling the new bulb only by the bulb holder portion, reconnect the electrical connector, and insert the new bulb/holder into the housing. Twist the holder clockwise to lock it in place, then install the cover. Installation is the reverse of the removal.

    To disconnect the negative cable from the battery, start by removing the radiator grille for sealed beam-type headlights. Then, carefully remove the retainer screws without disturbing the adjusting screws. Pull the headlight out enough to unplug the connector and remove the headlight. To install the headlight, plug the connector in, position the headlight, and secure it with the retainer and screws. For composite headlights, open the hood and remove the two headlight retainers to drop the assembly forward and down. Reach behind the assembly to turn the bulb holder counterclockwise and unplug it. To install, plug the new bulb assembly into the electrical connector, insert it into the receptacle, and rotate clockwise to lock it into place.
