    Q:
How to replace the air conditioning pressure sensor for Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
The HVAC Pressure Switch monitors excessively high and low system pressures and will prevent the system from operating if either condition exists. The HVAC Pressure Switch is threaded onto a Schrader valve so that to replace it, you will not have to discharge the air conditioning system. Firstly, remove the front bumper cover. Second, unplug the electrical connector from the switch which is located at the lower right corner of the condenser. Lastly, rotate and remove the switch off Schrader valve with a back-up wrench on fitting for the switch. Discard old sealing O-rings to prevent leaks; plug all open lines and fittings to prevent contamination of the air conditioning system. Lubricate new O-rings with compatible refrigerant oil and screw tight new switch into threads. Installation is the opposite of removal (Girling 2007).
