    Place the removed fuel pump/fuel level sensor on a clean surface. Disconnect the sensor's electrical connector and wiring harness. Remove the fuel level sensor from the pump module. If any component is defective, replace the entire module. To reinstall, slide the sensor into place until it clicks and verify its position. Follow the removal steps in reverse for installation.
