If Loe II or Theftlock audio is installed in the vehicle, be sure to have the right code before disconnecting the battery. If you are undertaking front bumper removal on 1994 and earlier models, first, you have to remove the front air deflector. For all models produced from 1995 onwards, first, you have to unscrew the radiator grille and then unbolt the two lower corners of the fascia, although the nuts that are attached to the brace cannot be unbolted. Third, besides the aforementioned screws, the other screws are the fascia to fender bolts that can be found next to upper corners of the used fascia and in addition to this, there are BMW's trademarked push in fasteners from the fascia to the bumpers by which the top end of the lower bumper fascia has to be disconnected to free it from the bumper. Following that, unbolt the brace-to-frame bolts, if any, and subsequently, unbolt the bracket-to-frame bolts so as to release the bumper from the vehicle. For installation, the screws should be done in the reverse order as removal then tighten the bumper mounting bolts to the mentioned torque. To perform on the rear bumper of 1995 and other subsequent models, first, remove the fascia from the bumper as it employs the push-in fasteners fixed underneath. Subsequently, there are the brace-to-frame and bracket-to-frame bolts/nuts which loose holding the bumper to the vehicle; the brackets are the ones that link the bumpers to the bottom of the frame rails while the braces are the curved pieces at the outside ends of the bumper. It is done vice versa after ensuring that the bumper mounting bolts have been tightened to an appropriate torque.
