    Q:
How do you remove the brake caliper for Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the brake caliper, start by loosening the lug nuts on the front or rear wheel and raising the vehicle securely on jackstands. Block the wheels at the opposite end and remove the wheel. Pinch off the brake line flexible rubber hose gently to prevent fluid from coming out when disconnected. Remove the inlet fitting bolt and disconnect the brake hose from the caliper, discarding the old sealing washers. Immediately plug the brake hose to prevent contaminants and air from entering the system and minimize fluid loss. Remove the pinch clamp from the flexible line. Proceed to remove the caliper mounting bolts and detach the caliper from the mounting bracket. If removing a rear caliper on a 1500 model, hold the slide pins with an open-end wrench to prevent them from turning. To install, reverse the removal steps, using new sealing washers on each side of the brake hose inlet fitting and tightening the fitting bolt and caliper mounting bolts to the specified torque. Finally, bleed the brake system.
