- A:Remove the alternator and mark the front and rear frames for reassembly. Take out the four bolts connecting the frames and separate them. Detach the stator from the rectifier bridge and remove the diode trio. Remove the brush holder and the voltage regulator. For installation, reverse the steps. When reinstalling the brush holder, press the brushes in, use a straightened paper clip to hold them, and only remove the clip once the frames are bolted together.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
