    How should the windshield wiper blade elements be checked and replaced on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer

    The windshield wiper blades should have its element tested for crack and deteriorating periodically. First of all, raise the wiper blade assembly off the glass. After that, the release lever is to be pressed and then the blade assembly is to slide off the hook at the end of the wiper arm. Pull the two small rubber buttons located at the end of the blade element which extends through the frame to unlock blade element and slide it out of the frame This means most of the blade elements can be replaced by hand without use of pliers. Measure the new element with the old one in term of size and shape; some replacement elements we have may be made of three segments joined with thin plastic collar which should not be removed until the element is inserted into the frame. Insert the new element into the frame with the notched end rearwards; place clips into the notches. Last of all, fit back the blade assembly to the arm, moisten the wind shield and check for efficiency.
