It is necessary to take certain precautions when servicing a turbocharged engine. While changing the oil and filter, or any operation that will result in the loss of oil pressure, disconnect the pink wire from the distributor and crank the engine momentarily until the oil light goes out. When replacing bearings, change oil and filter; for damaged turbocharger, flush it. If there's need to replace any part that involves center housing, change oil and filter. Disengage exhaust pipes, oil feed pipe, air intake, linkages, fuel line, vacuum lines; drain coolant; disengage coolant lines; power brake vacuum line: finally remove bolts attaching various components in order to remove the turbo charger . In order to install it back tighten bolts to specified torque following reverse order of removing it. Detach detonation sensor, wastegate actuator, center housing and plenum using specific steps and torque values during component servicing.
