Q:
How do you remove the expansion tank? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the coolant reservoir, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Drain approximately 1.4 quarts (1.5 liters) of coolant, ensuring that the coolant level is lower than that of the reservoir. Disconnect the hoses from the reservoir and remove the retaining clip from the left side of the reservoir. Slide the reservoir forward to detach it from the mounting tangs, then lift it up and disconnect the electrical connector from the coolant level sensor on the bottom of the reservoir. To install the coolant reservoir, simply reverse the removal steps. Finally, refill the cooling system.
