Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Apply the parking brake and block the rear wheels to prevent rolling. Remove the front wheels and detach the stabilizer bar link from the lower control arm. Support the outer end of the lower control arm with a floor jack and remove the shock absorber. Install a suitable internal-type spring compressor according to the manufacturer's instructions, compressing the spring sufficiently to relieve all pressure from the upper spring seat, which can be verified by wiggling the spring. After compressing the spring, remove the floor jack and the pivot bolts from the lower control arm. Carefully move the lower control arm down and remove the compressed spring, leaving the tool on if re-installing it or carefully removing it for a replacement spring. Place the insulator on top of the coil spring, install the top of the spring into the spring pocket and the bottom in the lower control arm. Move the lower control arm into position and install the pivot bolts, support the outer end with the floor jack, then remove the spring compressor and install the shock absorber. Complete the installation by reversing the removal steps, tightening all fasteners to the proper torque values, and ensuring the wheel lug nuts are also tightened to the specified torque. Finally, have the front end alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.
