    Q:
How do you remove and install a rear stabilizer bar on Buick Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
A simple stabilizer bar is available on late model Regals, bolting to the lower control arm on either side. To remove the unit, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on jackstands, then remove the two nuts from the inner side of the lower control arm on both sides. Be prepared to support the bar and catch the shims used between the bar and the control arm; hold the bar up with one hand or a suitable prop, pull the mounting bolts out from the outside, and remove the bolts and shims on one side before repeating the procedure on the other side to remove the bar. For installation, locate the bar in position with the bolt holes lined up, put the bolts through the control arms and holes in the sway bar from the outside, then slip the shims with the cuts facing downward between the bar and trailing arm on both sides, and install the nuts, tightening them and the bolts to 35 ft. lbs. (47 Nm).

    Q:
How do you replace the front and rear stabilizer bars on Chevrolet El Camino? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the front Sway Bar Kit, the front part of the car should be lifted and the Sway Bar Kit should be disconnected from the lower part of the control arms. Subsequent to that, the brackets of the Sway Bar Kit have to be unbolted from the frame and the bar has to be raised. Then, remove the link bolts, spacers, and rubber grommets from the lower control arms or Sway Bar Kit, and check for abuse, wear, or deterioration of all the parts; replace where necessary. If new frame bushings are required, slip them without any regard to orientation over the Sway Bar Kit where the slit is facing forward of the automobile. When fitting it, place the brackets over the bushings and secure them to the frame loosely so as to position the Sway Bar Kit in the middle before final tightening of bolts to the correct torque setting. Last of all, bring it down to the desired height that is, as close to the ground as possible. The rear Sway Bar Kit, to do this, support the rear axle by lifting the rear end of the vehicle and unbolt the Sway Bar Kit to spring retainer bracket. Then, remove the Sway Bar Kit to body bracket bolt and then it will be possible to remove the assembly. Install the bushings on the Sway Bar Kit and put the bar in place; engage the upper retaining bolts, and the use of the Sway Bar Kit to spring attachment. Make sure the vehicle is only supported by the rear axle before tightening the bolts by torque and then alight the vehicle.

    Q:
What should be removed next after the connecting link for the 1987 Buick Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
Next, remove the two bolts on each side that attach the stabilizer bar bracket to the frame, then take off each bracket and the stabilizer bar, ensuring to retain all parts since the brackets are two-piece assemblies.

    A:
