When undertaking the removal of the driveshaft the following steps have to be followed, Lift the vehicle off the ground using jack stands and make sure that the shift selector lever is in neutral position. This has to be aligned and done by marking, with the help of chalk or scribe, the relation of the driveshaft to the differential pinion yoke and the transfer case flange. Then, take out the driveshaft loop and free the rear U-joint that is fitted on the rear differential assembly, since the loosening of the bolts may cause the driveshaft to turn by its own weight; use a screwdriver to secure the driveshaft in line at the same time you are loosening the bolts. Then unbolt the front constant velocity joint from the transfer case as well as the mounting bolts from the center support bearing. With some amount of pulling help, slowly release the driveshaft back ward to get it out of the transfer case, and extract it from the car. For installation, reverse the above removal process, paying attention to the marks that were made and then tighten the fasteners.
