Check the Brake Disc surfaces, you will find that the regular scoring or grooving of Brake Disc is allowed, however deep grooving or severe erosion is not permitted. If pulsating is experienced during the act of brake application, then disc runout should be expected. Screw a dial gauge to the caliper mounting bracket, rotate the Brake Disc and check the amount of runout; if more than the maximum allowed, the disc has to be lathed. Either look at inboard and outboard faces; if runout is high, detach the Brake Disc and take it to an automotive machine shop for turning. Instrument the thickness of the Brake Disc with the help of a micrometer; if cord thickness is below the minimum required, then it should be changed. Also, it is important to measure the disc thickness at various intervals; any difference in thickness of 0.0005 inch or more will result in pedal pulsations. If this variation is present but the degrees of thickness are acceptable, the Brake Disc can also be refinished. The wheel keeps the rear Brake Disc in place, and when the wheel is removed, the caliper is all that keeps the Brake Disc on. It is not mandatory to remove the brake hose: when the caliper mounting bolts are removed, stand the caliper aside using wire, but do not suspend it by means of the brake hose.
