Before actually removing the window regulator, unbolt the negative cable at the battery, and make sure that it is far from the terminal. If the vehicle has security system/anti theft which is linked to an audio system, switch it off before disconnecting the battery. Then, it is advisable to pull off the door trim panel and the watershield and finally, the armrest bracket. Unglue the glass on the window and use string or other mechanical fasteners in a way that it rises up and shut it firmly and then use strong adhesive tape to secure the glass in that position. Remove the centre of the rivets fixating the window regulator to the door by punching and drilling with a 3/16 inch drill. Slide the regulator into the door and free the arms of the glass; they should then be folded up to retrieve the regulator out through the access hole, and, if required, disconnected from the electrical connection for a power window regulator. The coil can easily be removed and if replacing the power regulator motor, use a self-tapping sheet metal screw to secure the sector gear and backing plate. When installing the regulator, it is mounted in the door and used to attach the arm rollers on the sash as well as the regulator rail. Match the regulator holes with those in the door and fasten it with 1/4 inch diameter by 1/2 inch long bolts with nuts and lock washers, connect the electrical connector for power regulators. Lastly tighten the armrest bracket, fixed the watershield and the door trim panel, take out the tape on the glass and connect the battery terminals.
