The access to the clutch components is normally through the removal of the transmission with the engine still in the car. Check the bushing on pilot and the lining on the clutch disc, there should be at least 1/16 inches lining above the heads of the rivet and no signs of any damage. The clutch disc should also be replaced with a new one and the release bearing should also be replaced. Look at the pressure plate for signs of wear or damages and if needed a machine shop can pau minor grooves. It is necessary to clean the inner face of the flywheel and outer face of pressure plate by washed rags to remove any likely spilled oil or grease. Align the clutch disc and the pressure plate with the flywheel properly before installing them through the use of alignment tool. Loosen the pressure plate to flywheel bolts and then temporarily tighten the same with finger pressure and then align the clutch disc to its correct position and then torque tighten in a diagonal sequence pattern to the recommended torque. Oil the ID groove of the release bearing and contact surfaces; also in the clutch housing and fasten the bolts with the stipulated torque. Lastly, reinstall the transmission back, as well as every part which has been removed during the process of its disassembling, make sure to tighten every bolt and screw to meet all necessary requirements.
