Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the wheel. For 4WD models, remove the hub cover and unscrew the driveaxle/hub nut using a socket and large breaker bar, bracing a large prybar across two wheel studs or inserting a large screwdriver through the center of the brake caliper into the disc cooling vanes to prevent the hub from turning while loosening the nut. Next, remove the brake caliper and brake disc, hanging the caliper out of the way on a piece of wire without disconnecting the brake hose, ensuring only the caliper mounting bracket-to-knuckle bolts are removed so the caliper and bracket can be taken out as an assembly. Proceed to remove the hub and bearing assembly, and for 4WD models, take out the driveaxle. Remove the disc splash shield from the steering knuckle, and on 2009 and later models, detach the ABS wheel speed sensor from the steering knuckle. Unbolt the brake hose bracket from the top of the steering knuckle if it is attached, then disconnect the tie-rod end and the balljoints from the steering knuckle. Finally, remove the steering knuckle. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, ensuring to tighten the balljoint, tie-rod end, and hub and bearing assembly fasteners to the specified torque values, along with the caliper mounting bolts, driveaxle/hub nut for 4WD models, and wheel lug nuts.
