    Q:
How to remove and install the steering knuckle on Pontiac Firebird? Posted by Customer
    A:
Raise the vehicle and place it securely on jackstands under the side frame rails, then remove the wheel and tire. Next, take off the brake hose bracket from the strut assembly, followed by the caliper retaining bolts, and hang the caliper out of the way using a piece of wire, ensuring it does not hang by the brake hose. Proceed to remove the hub and disc assembly, then unbolt and take off the brake disc splash shield. Disconnect the tie-rod from the steering knuckle, and place a floor jack under the lower control arm for support. Disconnect the balljoint from the steering knuckle, then remove the two bolts that retain the strut to the steering knuckle and take out the knuckle. For installation, reverse the removal procedure and tighten all bolts to the specified torque.
